brickskin – workshop design to make

how to design architectural envelopes performative brick thanks to the support of Wienerberger

April 19 to 21 2013 - University Campus of Feltre (BL)

The branded solutions Wienerberger were chosen for the workshop proposed by COdesignLab and by IUAV Master PCS, for the high energy performance and for its sensitivity to environmental sustainability.
COdesignLab, laboratory research and design founded in Paris by Paolo Cascone, which boasts of a solid experience on the front performative architecture and eco-sustainable design, propone il workshop brickskin – design to make, a three-day addressed to students of the Master in Sustainable Processes Constructive, the course promoted by’University IUAV Venice and Confidustria Belluno Dolomites.

The event will be held from 19 to the 21 April 2013 at the University Campus of Feltre in the province of Belluno and, in addition to enroll in the Master, can participate free of charge two students or recent graduates from each Faculty of Architecture Italian, so that they will work closely with professionals in the field of constructions using systems provided by Wienerberger.

During the three days of the workshop, participants will use to perform the exercises in the program, several branded solutions Wienerberger, where the tradition of brick is combined with the technology and innovation to create projects constantly evolving and designed to meet construction needs related to issues such as efficiency, energy conservation and environmental sustainability.
Il workshop brickskin, through a morphogenetic approach, highlights the ways in which a system in brick becomes a component essential to the realization of architectural envelopes performance and effective from the point of view of energy and environmental performance.

Will be developed in this way the different phases of a constructive process, from design concept parametrico that regulates the relationship between geometry, Fitness and Performance, the ability to analyze the environmental performance, up to test the assembly techniques through the creation of a physical prototype of a form of skin performative.

The workshop is part of the applied research program Ecologic Habitat, that, under the direction of Paul Cascone, explores, with a parametric approach to designing, architectural envelopes performative, thanks to combinazione di high-tech design e low-tech construction.
